My daughter Alex was born with with dry skin. Standard moisturisers didn’t help at all and my medical doctor reassured me that Alex didn’t have a serious skin condition. It was merely very dry skin. He gave me a prescription for an emollient that contained petroleum which I immediately started using. I didn’t particularly enjoy putting chemicals into her young skin so stopped and carried onlooking for baby moisturiser for very dry, itchy skin.
It wasn’t until March this year that I came across Naturally Perfect shea butter body moisturiser. The butter is made by a UK company specialising in handmade Shea body butters containing no nasties. The butter was perfect for both adults and children so I thought Id give it a try. I haven’t looked back. It’s the only moisturiser I use on her skin and here’s why:
The company sells shea butter in three different scents: Cocoa Dream, The Remedy and Sweet Summer. They all come in both family sized jars and travel pots, making it quite handy for when I went abroad to Portugal.
The shea butters contain a blend of natural oils such as avocado, coconut oil amongst others. ‘The remedy’ is the one that contain the most oils as it’s recommended for those with irritated skin. The butter is smooth to the touch and begins to melt as soon as it’s handled- a plus for me because some body butters tend to take a while to melt.
I use it on Alex once a day after coming out off the bath. I dab her skin dry and then begin to apply either Coco Dream or Sweet Summer. The butter keeps her skin supple and hydrated the entire time. She used to scratch her skin until it bled but the body butter put an end to that.
Would I use it again?
There’s no doubt at all that I would use Naturally Perfect’s products again, like I mentioned before, I’ve been using it since March because it does indeed make a difference to Alex’s skin.
Have a look at the their website and see which body butter is good for you and your family.
